Jim Horn at
Schools Matter (recently added to the blogroll)
has a good post about what he calls the "gender segregation movement" in public schools. He links to/excerpts from two interesting pieces, one by economist Janna Goodridge, and another by sociologist Michael Kimmel, who both dismantle some of the scientific and statistical mythologies underlying the popular view that the education system is somehow failing boys (and that single-sex classrooms are the answer).
