California Christians' Referendum Effort Falls Short
As we've noted, several conservative Christian organizations are challenging new amendments to California's anti-discrimination law that clarify its coverage of GLBT students. But their efforts to force a referendum vote on the new law recently feel short, as the organization leading these efforts, Save our
Children Kids, secured only 350,000 of the 433,000 necessary signatures. However, the group vows to keep trying to force a public voice to repeal the law and its allies continue to seek an injunction against its enforcement.
