New Bollywood Film on Women's Hockey
Here's a little something for all those who love both Bollywood movies and Title IX (I know it can't just be me) -- a new Hindi movie called "Chak De! India", which considers the obstacles faced by some women athletes in India due to gender stereotypes and societal expectations. It's billed as, ultimately, a feel-good movie about a women's hockey (field, not ice) team in India. The movie just opened in the US, and I look forward to seeing it. The New York Times movie review is here.
